Congratulations to our October Athletes of the Month Tavion Martinez (football), Hunter Harris (football) and Alo Thompson (volleyball) they have represented Northridge High And their repsective teams very well this season leading them to the State Playoffs.

Tavion Martinez was a big part of the success the Knights had on Defensive this past season.  He played DT which he was undersized for but always seem to get the job done.  He had 68 tackles 19 of those were for loss, as well as 10 sacks.  Coach Mitchell had this to say about him “Tavion was a big part of the defense this year, he gave relentless effort all the time and very rarely came off the field for our defense.”

Hunter Harris was a big part of the success the Knights had on Offense.  He rushed for 826 yards and 522 receiving yards.  He scored 10 touchdowns (5 rushing and 5 receiving).  He even had a great back flip celebration against East on their final TD of the year.  Coach Mitchell had this to say about him “Hunter had a great year for us on offense.  He was always very coach able and loved to have fun.  He made everything fun.  He was a great kid to have on the team”.

Alo Thompson was a big reason why the Volleyball team made the State Tournament this season.  After starting out 1-4 in Region the Knights came back and won 4 out of 7 games and qualified for the 6A State Tournament.  This is what Coach Barker had to say about Alo “she has had 3 triple doubles during region play and is leading our team in hitting with a .437.  She has been a great part of our teams success and our comeback to make the State Playoffs”.
