Northridge High has 27 Academic All-State Nominees for the fall of 2020. Of these 27 amazing athletes, Northridge has a total of 7 Student-Athletes who received this prestigious award. We are incredibly proud of our students and the work they put in athletics, but more so in the classroom.
What is Academic All-State?
For over 25 years the UHSAA has presented the Academic All-State Award to recognize those students who have excelled in the classroom as well as in athletic competition. Individuals are selected for this award on the basis of their athletic ability and academic proficiency. With over 85,000 students participating in high school activities, this award is the most prestigious honor the UHSAA presents to senior students. The award is based of a couple things; the student-athlete’s unweighted cumulative high school GPA and ACT/SAT score. This award is earned by using an index score or by having a 4.0 unweighted GPA.
What are the requirements for a Student-Athlete to be nominated for Academic All-State?
- Minimum 3.75 GPA
- Actively contributing to a sanctioned UHSAA athletic team
